Good Take is intended for people aged 13 and up. It is a recording and editing tool for videos you make of yourself. It has no social features, no chat, no feed, no ads, and nothing you make is shared with anyone unless you export it and share it yourself.

Good Take is made by Eloy Ventures, LLC, doing business as Solo Apps. This page describes the app as submitted to the App Store so that parents, guardians, and reviewers can see what it does and does not contain. The age rating shown on the App Store is set through Apple's rating questionnaire and reflects the same facts.

What the app does

You write a script or talking points, or say your idea out loud, then record yourself on camera while a prompter follows your voice. Afterwards you can trim the video by editing its transcript, add captions, replace the background, and save or share the result. Everything runs on the iPhone.

Content in the app

• No content from other people. The only video, audio, and text in the app is what you record or type yourself. There is no library of other users' videos, no feed, and no discovery.
• No mature themes. The app contains no violence, sexual content, profanity, drug or alcohol references, gambling, horror, or medical content of its own.
• No advertising. No ads, no ad networks, no sponsored content.
• No unrestricted web access. The app has no browser. The only outside links open Apple's App Store, Apple's subscription management, and this website.
• No contests, prizes, or gambling.

Automatically generated content

Good Take uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and language model to turn what you say into transcripts, talking points, and interview questions, and to give feedback on pace and pauses. That output is derived only from your own words, is shown only to you, and can be edited or deleted. It is not generated from prompts typed into a chatbot, and the app has no open-ended conversational feature.

Social features and communication

Purchases

Good Take is free to download and use with limits. Good Take Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment, and parents can require approval for purchases with Ask to Buy in Family Sharing, or block in-app purchases entirely in Screen Time. There are no loot boxes, virtual currencies, or randomized purchases. Prices are shown before you buy.

Camera, microphone, and privacy

The app uses the camera and microphone to record you, with your permission, and only while you are recording. Video, audio, scripts, and transcripts stay on the iPhone and are never uploaded to us. There are no accounts and no tracking. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Children under 13

Good Take is not directed at children under 13 and is not marketed to them. It collects no personal information from anyone, so there is nothing a child could submit to us. Parents who want to limit access can use Screen Time restrictions for camera, microphone, and app installation on the child's iPhone.

Reminders and notifications

The app can send optional local reminders, such as a weekly recording goal. They are scheduled on the phone, contain no marketing, and can be turned off in iOS Settings.
