There's a good chance we know why you're here.

You have something to say on camera. A product update, a lesson, a pitch, a weekly video for the people who follow you. You know what you want to say. And then you press record, lose your place, say “um” eleven times, and record it again. And again. An hour later you have five takes and post none of them.

Teleprompter apps were supposed to fix this. Most of them scroll on a timer and turn you into someone reading. Editing apps were supposed to fix the rest. Most of them want a timeline, a subscription, and an upload to somebody's server.

Most video apps upload your footage to transcribe it, and keep a copy to “improve the service.” Good Take doesn't have a server to upload to. Apple's on-device speech recognition and language model do the work, on your phone, with the network off if you like.

Read the whole privacy policy. It's short, because there's little to disclose.

On-device speech. The prompter and the editor use Apple's speech recognition on the phone. Your audio is never sent anywhere.
No sign-up. No email, no password, no profile. Open the app and record.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for. Download the app, allow the camera and microphone, and record.

Does my video ever leave my phone?

No. Recording, speech recognition, editing, and the AI that writes your talking points all run on the iPhone. The only thing that leaves is anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.

What is free, and what does Pro add?

Recording, the prompter, Talk It Out, and basic editing are free. Free exports carry a small Good Take mark, with three clean exports included each month. Good Take Pro, $47 a year, removes the mark on every video and unlocks every caption style, filler removal, and backgrounds.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel Good Take Pro there. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

I want a refund. How do I get one?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for the purchase.

Is Good Take on Android?

Not yet. Join the waitlist and you will get one email the day it ships.
